The research group TRAMA, which stands for Translation in Audiovisual Media and Accessibility, was born with the objective of uniting efforts between university teaching staff and professionals in the sector so as to move forward together in improving teaching and research on audiovisual translation. Our field of work mainly consists in teaching and research on the main modes of audiovisual translation: dubbing, voice-over, commercial subtitling, subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing, audio description for the blind and visually impaired, and video game localisation. We also conduct research on transcreation, transmedia projects, surtitling for opera and the theatre, and on the role of audiovisual translation in language teaching and learning. TRAMA also provides consultancy services for companies in the sector, scientific studies for TV channels, distributors and online distribution platforms, as well as research contracts entered into with companies. Likewise, the research group has carried out several research projects in recent years, having obtained funding through open calls by various state and regional bodies.
