The research team studies the emotional and motivational processes involved in task performance (effectiveness and efficiency) in different achievement contexts (academic, work, sport, etc.). We highlight the role of emotions (anger/hostility, anxiety, enjoyment) and motivational factors (expectations, attribution, etc.) in stressful situations. In particular, the anxiety and emotional intelligence show their relationship with academic performance, mediated by the influence of achievement emotions (positive and negative), with an impact on the use of different learning strategies, emotional regulation and the state of health. On the other hand, we analyse the influence of psychological factors on addictions (e.g., alcohol and tobacco-cannabis). We use empirical and experimental research methods with recording of cardiovascular activity (heart rate and blood pressure). The general objective of our research is the study of the emotional and motivational variables that underlie performance, well-being and satisfaction in achieving goals.
