Research in Visual Arts Education

The Research Group in Visual Arts and Education operates within three main areas. Firstly, it focuses on the teaching and learning of visual arts through arts-based methodologies, continuous professional development, and pedagogical guidance to institutions. Secondly, it centers on research and artistic creation within educational contexts. Our team comprises expert researchers in art education and social intervention who closely collaborate with educational and artistic institutions, as well as cultural entities and art centers. These areas are interconnected, as they constitute learning environments where the arts play a crucial role in cognitive development, facilitating communication, fostering creativity, and promoting visual creation. Moreover, over the years, the group has conducted a variety of research projects funded through competitive calls from various state and regional bodies.
