Sound Habitat. Music, Image and Meaning

The HASOMU research group focuses its fundamental activity on educational research in contexts in which art and music are a vehicle for social transformation. Based on our experience in the teaching of musical expression and the presence of music in daily life, we analyze its impact on the sound habitat. Analysis and research into artistic processes as an educational tool, in all types of contexts, is a key factor to understand the role of education in our current society. Aspects such as musical creativity, education in values, the study of artistic heritage and its significance in society, concern for egalitarian education or the inclusion of diversity are the main objectives of our educational lines. Through the development and implementation of artistic projects we study their impact on education. Since its inception it has been formed by researchers who are experts in education, art, world music, and the studies we have carried out have sought to shed light on the educational dimension of participation in community initiatives in which art becomes a means for the integral development of people.
