In BIOSUPRAMAT group at UJI we use Biology as inspiration for the design of functional supramolecular materials. We have a broad expertise in Supramolecular Chemistry with particular emphasis on the design of SELF-ASSEMBLED FIBRILLAR NETWORKS AND GELS. We have expertise in the design and synthesis of functional molecular gelators, their study by instrumental techniques adapted for soft matter (spectroscopic and microscopic) and their application in biomimetic molecular recognition and catalysis. Following this background the current aims are directed to developing peptide based soft materials for applications in biomimetic supramolecular catalysis, drug delivery and as biomaterials for regenerative medicine.
