Research Group in Energy Economics, Markets and Policy Evaluation

Members of GREEn MAP develop an applied research agenda aimed at supporting public action in the fields of energy and the environment, through empirical analysis of market functioning and the impacts of public policies. The group’s activity focuses on providing rigorous evidence on the behaviour of energy markets and on the economic, social and institutional effects of different policy instruments, including regulation, taxation, and transport and mobility policies. The work of GREEn MAP aligns with the objectives of the energy and climate transition and with the strategic frameworks promoted by public administrations. It is based on the use of large-scale datasets and the application of advanced machine learning, statistical, and econometric techniques. The aim is to generate rigorous and directly actionable knowledge that contributes to the design, implementation, and evaluation of energy and environmental policies.
