ECA

The ECA is the research group in charge of the installation and maintenance of the University's observatory network. It has a total of eight automatic weather stations that record data on wind speed and direction, temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, solar radiation and precipitation every fifteen minutes. In this work he has the commendable collaboration of the Excma. Castellón Provincial Council that, through the agreement, “Provincial Climate Observatory” provides funding in materials and personnel, providing the ECA with a technician. The ECA also has the reception of images from geostationary satellites, the popular Meteosat, which it disseminates through its website. These are visible and infrared images of Europe and the globe, as well as animations, which are completed with images from the American GOES. The task of the ECA is not limited to obtaining data but is expanded to the analysis of the same, both internal and external, and which results in an important research activity that takes over from that initiated since the times of the old University College by Professor Dr. D, José Quereda Sala, who gives name to the ECA facilities.
